Upgrade Priority: Luck, Rolls, Speed or Food Gain?

Where to spend cash at every stage of the game, and when to expand the nest.

Updated

The upgrade board next to the Ant Queen has five upgrades plus the nest expansion. They all look useful, but their value changes a lot as you progress. This is the order that worked in every run we analysed.

Early game (under $1M)

  1. Expand the nest and unlock every slot. A filled slot is the cheapest income you can buy.
  2. Egg Rolls to 2–3. More eggs per roll means more chances at a new rarity.
  3. Food Gain Multiplier. Cheap at this stage and it boosts every ant at once.
  4. Level your best ants to ~10.

Egg Luck is tempting, but while you can only afford Uncommons and Rares, extra luck mostly shows you ants you cannot buy yet.

Mid game ($1M – $1T)

  • Upgrade the Ant Queen. Each queen upgrade unlocks a new egg tier — the Mythic Egg first (about $26K in one run), then Exotic, Secret and Divine ($2T).
  • Now push Egg Luck. Players reached 40×–80× luck here, which is when Legendaries and Mythics start showing up regularly.
  • Ant Speed starts to matter once single trips carry millions of food.
  • Keep expanding. Floors seen: $100K, $2M, $150M, $1.8B and $54B.

Late game ($1T and up)

  • Egg Rolls to 6 (the cap).
  • Egg Luck toward 100× for Secret and Divine rolls.
  • OP Celestial Egg — the final queen upgrade, seen at $30Qa (or about 100 Robux).
  • Mutations on your top ants. At this point a Petal or Starlight potion on your best ant is worth more than another luck level.

Should you upgrade individual ants?

Yes, but only your best few. Levels get expensive fast on high rarities (one Legendary cost $625K for a single level), while a new ant one rarity higher usually beats any amount of levelling. A good rule: level an ant until one level costs more than a few minutes of income.
