Free-to-Play vs Robux: What Is Actually Worth Buying

The few Robux purchases that pay off, and a full free-to-play route.

Updated

You can reach a trillion dollars in about an hour without spending anything — one player did exactly that. Robux mostly saves time. Here is what is actually worth it.

Best value

PurchaseRobuxWhy
2× Cash9Doubles all selling income forever
4× Cash24Still cheap for a permanent multiplier
Food Pack29About two hours of food at once — sell it at a high multiplier
Fixed Price800Sell price locked at 2.5× forever

Situational

  • 8×–24× Cash (80–320 Robux) — good if you play a lot; diminishing returns.
  • Ant Packs / Demon Ant Packs (~100 Robux each) — very fast boost, pulls Exotic to OP ants (usually with Starlight). The very best OP ants still need luck; one player bought around 50 Demon packs before getting the two they wanted.
  • OP Celestial Egg unlock (~100 Robux) — skips a $30Qa queen upgrade.

Usually not worth it

  • Cash Packs — the amount scales with your progress and is soon a small fraction of your income.
  • Buying single ants with Robux (56–2,000 Robux) — only for an OP you would never afford otherwise.
  • Demonic Fortress (1,000 Robux) — mainly cosmetic; the cash bonus is real but a free tree skin gives similar boosts.

A free-to-play route

  1. Fill every slot and level ants to 10 (beginner guide).
  2. Only sell at 1.6× or better (sell timing).
  3. Do every free event: Vine, Strawberry King, Travel Snail and Starfall.
  4. Farm dungeons for a Snail pet — its earnings boost is huge.
  5. Save Star Coins for the Starwing Ant.
