About the Mechanical Ant
The Mechanical Ant is an OP ant that looks like a machine, with a seat built into the front. With the Candy mutation it earns about 67.2T before any upgrades.
It is a long-legged robot with armour plating and a glowing headlight.
How to get the Mechanical Ant
OP Celestial Egg roll
The OP Celestial Egg is the last egg tier. Unlock it with the final Upgrade Ant Queen step (about $30Qa, or about 100 Robux). OP and Celestial ants usually appear through the long SUPER roll animation, and you need very high Egg Luck to see them.
Price and value
No podium price has been recorded for the Mechanical Ant yet — the videos show it without a readable price tag. We will add the price once it is confirmed.
Income in Build an Ant Empire depends on more than the ant: its level, its mutation, your Food Gain upgrade, Ant Speed and any jelly all multiply what it brings back per trip. Use the EFF calculator to compare a mutated ant with an upgraded one before spending.
OP rarity explained
OP ants come from the OP Celestial Egg, which costs about $30Qa or about 100 Robux to unlock. They appear through SUPER rolls with prices in the quintillions — $4.2Qi for the Thunder Ant and $21Qi for the Boxer Ant — or for 400 to 2,000 Robux directly.
In the game's rarity order, OP sits just below Celestial and above Divine and Secret. OP ants are very hard to get without spending Robux. The Mechanical and Jellyfish Ants are OP too, and endgame colonies often own several copies of the Thunder Ant.
| OP ant | Podium price | How to get |
|---|---|---|
| Belial Ant | — | Demon Ant Pack (Robux) |
| Boxer Ant | $21Qi | OP Celestial Egg roll |
| Thunder Ant | $4.2Qi | OP Celestial Egg roll |
| Mechanical Ant | — | OP Celestial Egg roll |
| Jellyfish Ant | — | OP Celestial Egg roll |

Best mutation for the Mechanical Ant
Late-game ants deserve the strongest potions. Petal (3×) costs $500T and Starlight (5×) costs $5.1Qi in the Item Shop, so save them for ants you will keep. The Resource Converter can also give Starlight potions in exchange for valuable ants.
Ants from Robux packs normally arrive with Starlight already, and a potion cannot be applied on top of an existing mutation.
